                 Installing an operating System (specially Linux) can become pathetic if your PC or laptop don't have an Optical Disk Drive. But don't worry... Using a tool named Universal USB Installer its possible to use your pen-drive or flash drives (memory card etc.) as an Bootable Optical disk.

          All you need is :
  
 Linux ISO file
     
    You can easily download ISO file of your desired linux OS through corresponding website for absolutely FREE !
 (just make sure the ISO file is original that is not created using an existing bootable disc)

 Universal USB Installer 
         It is tool which will allow you to create bootable drive. It supports almost all linux distros released till date (more than 100). Click the link below to download ( wait 5 seconds and click on skip ads :) )


 USB Pen-drive or Flash Drive
         
You will want drive of atleast 1GB space. 2GB is recommended for this purpose. Keep in mind that all the data of USB drive will be erased as this procedure completely formats the drive. So, make sure you have backed up all your data of that drive.

 Okay, That was all you need. Now just follow the simple steps below.

STEP 1 :      
       Plug in your USB pen drive or flash Drive in Computer. Note the drive letter of your that drive in My Computer.
                    


           

STEP 2 :

        a) Select the Linux Distribution you are gonna install. Make sure you selected the

            correct version of the OS.

        b) Browse for the location of ISO file of selected OS.
        c) Select the correct Drive letter. Then click on Create button. A dialogue box will 
            be flashed. Click Yes.  
                                   


STEP 3 :
         It can take upto 2-3 minutes. After the completion of process click on the close button and now your USB drive is ready to boot. Restart the computer and select USB drive as a booting device.
                                      

 



Many popular Linux Operating System( Ubuntu, Fedora, mint) comes with an excellent feature that let you try the OS without actually installing on Computer hard disk (i.e. live CD).
